BHWF Receives Virtual Tour of BPL in Boston’s Secret Stash
Vivian Spiro grew up loving to visit libraries in her hometown; and when she entered the Central Library in Copley Square for the first time, she was astounded. Greeted by a sculpture of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and Edward Austin Abbey’s mural, “The Quest and Achievement of the Holy Grail,” Spiro was impressed by how the City of Boston erected a civic building created to expose its citizens to art and architecture. A Leader of Boston’s Palace of the People Comes to BHWF
On Tuesday evening, April 11, the Beacon Hill Women’s Forum (BHWF) welcomes Vivian Spiro, Chairman of the Board of the Associates of the Boston Public Library, and a key leader in mustering financial support for the ongoing digitization of the BPL’s Special Collections. If you haven’t visited our Boston Public Library on Copley Square since its grand re-opening last summer, you must go, and take your out-of-town visitors, too. With a gorgeous new children’s library, eye-popping colors, a cool teen center, on top of its well-known architectural and artistic treasures, it’s a worthy destination, and still earns its nineteenth-century moniker as Boston’s “Palace of the People.” A Leader of Boston’s Palace of the People Comes to BHWF
Art and Jewelry Auctioneer Lucy Grogan at BHWF
There are few things more exciting in the world of dusty antiques than finding a “gem” of unexpected value, as attested by the continuing popularity of PBS’s “Antique Roadshow.” On Tuesday, March 14, the Beacon Hill Women’s Forum (BHWF) welcomes Lucy P. Grogan, local fine art and jewelry appraiser and auctioneer, who has appeared several times as an expert on the popular TV show. The upcoming event, dubbed “Going Once, Going Twice: The 21st Century Auction House,” will be held at 6-8 pm at Hampshire House, 84 Beacon Street. Art and Jewelry Auctioneer Lucy Grogan at BHWF
BHWF Thanks Tom Kershaw

Kershaw has generously underwritten the room rental cost for the organization from its inception four years ago in May 2013. BHWF Thanks Tom Kershaw
