Our History
Since its founding, the Beacon Hill Women’s Forum has brought together women from across the Boston community to connect, learn from one another, and hear from inspiring leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
Over the years, the Forum has grown and evolved, welcoming an extraordinary range of speakers, hosting memorable events, and creating opportunities for members to form meaningful connections and lasting friendships. Throughout that evolution, our commitment to engaging conversation, community, and connection has remained at the heart of who we are.
We invite you to explore the history of the Beacon Hill Women’s Forum and revisit some of the people, events, and moments that have shaped our community.
Inaugural Address
Every organization has a beginning. The Beacon Hill Women’s Forum began with a vision for creating a welcoming community where women could come together regularly to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from accomplished and inspiring speakers.
Our Inaugural Address takes us back to the Forum’s earliest days and the first monthly speaker forum, when that vision was shared with our growing community. Read the remarks that helped introduce the Beacon Hill Women’s Forum and set the stage for the many conversations, connections, and friendships that would follow.

Past Neighborhood Narratives
The Beacon Hill Women’s Forum has always been deeply connected to the neighborhood and the people, businesses, and organizations that make it such a special place. Through our Neighborhood Narratives, members have had the opportunity to discover the stories behind the local shops, entrepreneurs, community organizations, and familiar faces that contribute to the unique character of Beacon Hill.
Our Past Neighborhood Narratives archive celebrates these connections and preserves more than a decade of stories from throughout the community. Past Events
While our monthly speaker forums are at the heart of the Beacon Hill Women’s Forum, our community has always extended beyond the speaker stage. Throughout the years, BHWF has brought members together for a variety of special events and experiences designed to encourage conversation, connection, and, most importantly, fun.
Our Past Events archive offers a look back at the gatherings and activities that have helped make the Forum such a vibrant community. Former Presidents & Advisors
The Beacon Hill Women’s Forum would not be the organization it is today without the dedication and leadership of the many women who have volunteered their time and talents to serve on our Board.
Our Former Presidents & Advisors page recognizes those who have helped guide the Forum throughout its history. Their ideas, energy, commitment, and generosity have helped shape our programming, strengthen our community, and ensure that BHWF continues to be a welcoming place for women to connect, learn, and build lasting relationships. We are grateful to everyone who has played a role in leading the organization over the years.
