Lisa Macalaster
Co-President
Lisa a natural “connector” in both work and play. She loves bringing people together! In 1991, as a young mother, she created the Wellesley Mothers Forum which is still going strong over 30 years later. When she and her husband Spencer moved into Boston in 2010, she used the same model to create the Beacon Hill Women’s Forum. She is back as co-President this year to help with the 10th Anniversary of the BHWF. During the day Lisa is a real estate agent with Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty Beacon Hill and at night she is a semi-professional vocalist with Beacon Hill Jazz and The Remedies, a classic rock band. She finds great joy in guiding each new BHWF board as they add their own style year after year and continue to keep the BHWF a warm and welcoming place where friendships thrive!
Tricia Stone
Co-President
The city of Boston grabbed Tricia’s heart when she moved here in 2011 with her young daughter and a dream. For nine years, she owned an optometry practice in the financial district and was continually humbled by the kindness and loyalty of the Boston community. Now she is actively engaged in various local non-profits and is working on new creative projects. She moved into Beacon Hill last summer and quickly and gratefully discovered the Beacon Hill Women’s Forum. She’s very excited to be involved with this dynamic, engaging, and warm-hearted organization.
Jackie Knapp
Vice President
Jackie Knapp moved to Boston in 2021. After a short time in Seaport, she made Beacon Hill her home. Her favorite things about Beacon Hill include the proximity to green spaces, the charming architecture and gas-lit street lamps, and creating lasting friendships with her neighbors.

Lorie Conway
Programs Co-Director
Story-telling through films and video isn’t just a career for Lorie Conway. It’s her passion. Exploring stories about the human condition is a transcendent theme of her work.
She looks for stories that provoke a connection, an understanding, stories that start a conversation. Stories like…the first African American to sail solo around the world, the bravest woman lawyer in Zimbabwe–currently in production as a dramatic film, a marathon runner stopped by exploding bombs, a Bosnian war survivor restoring pianos, a wounded Vietnam War veteran reconciling his experience with his legendary father’s. Conway directed and wrote Forgotten Ellis Island, the first film and a book about the immigrant hospital on Ellis Island. After a ten-year run-on PBS, the film is a favorite on Amazon Prime Video.
Lorie Conway believes in the power of words and images; her work has been awarded the Peabody, DuPont, and Harvard’s Nieman Fellowship in Journalism. Since 2000, she’s been an independent producer for Boston Film & Video, a company she founded. Before that, she produced for Boston’s commercial networks, WGBH, and PBS.

Richelle Gewertz is an Architect at Elkus Manfredi Architects. Smitten by the old-world charm of Beacon Hill, Richelle has had her share of experiences living in a few of the North Slope’s tiniest and antiquated apartments, from former tenements to converted townhomes, from apron sinks to clawfoot tubs. Her appreciation has led her to fight for the preservation of the neighborhood by participating on the Civic Association’s Architecture and Zoning & Licensing Committees. Richelle joined the Women’s Forum to forge lasting friendships with those in the community, and is excited to oversee (as well as attend!) the many monthly Connections events that bring our members together over drinks, feasts, and fun adventures.
Western Philadelphia suburbs born and raised, Richelle moved to Boston after graduating from Syracuse University when a summer internship the year before led to a full time offer. Do ask her where she has discovered the most authentic cheesesteak outside Philly—hint: it’s on the Hill!
